This year the wildfire season is expected to start earlier than usual, which will impact air quality. In addition, due to the presence of the La Niņa phenomenon, the climate forecast implies low temperatures and low humidity, which represents a greater risk for the Semadet forest brigades and Civil Protection and Firefighters officers during the fight against fire.

Against this background, Jalisco is preparing to defend its forests and fight fires with:
15 brigades and 4 motor-pump cars from Semadet (9 additional brigades for 3 months to strengthen 7 regions).
21 brigades of the intermunicipal boards.
230 elements by Civil Protection.
38 brigades with 318 elements from the municipalities.
49 brigades with 435 elements from other institutions and the support of CONAFOR.
When we all do our part to protect our natural areas, Jalisco defends itself. Avoid situations that could put your safety and the preservation of our forests at risk, such as lighting fires or throwing cigarette butts.
If you witness a fire, do not try to extinguish it, make the report to the corresponding authorities: call 911, 33 3636 8252 or 800 FIRE (4623 6346).
For our forests and for your health, be responsible. Without fires, Jalisco breathes.
