Re: Anyone here have experience with the Mexican vaccine process?
The plot thickens! Today I stopped into Don Raul's tienda, across from the primary school, to buy cat food on my way to feed the critters at Cat Central. His wife asked me if I had been vaccinated yet; I replied that I had registered online last night but, as of this morning, there was a lot of confusion about whether we would be called to set up an appointment or had to call ourselves--possibly to a number in La Huerta, rather than Cihuatlan. She said that she would still wait for her appointment call, and that her husband had already been vaccinated in the first group of 10 from La Manzanilla. So then I talked to Don Raul, who confirmed that he was put in a group of 10 that also included Bruce, Jackie, Rosa, Stefania and other names that I didn't recognize, who went to Cihuatlan together in several vehicles. Stefania, is this how your group was formed, presumably on the basis of postal code? Who did the organizing? An official in Cihuatlan or someone in La Manzanilla? It certainly makes a lot more sense to group people together, depending on where they live, than for hundreds of individuals to make their own appointments and then figure out how to get there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I hope that someone can determine the current appointment system and let the rest of us know exactly what to do.
