"A late-stage human trial of the first mRNA Covid-19 vaccine candidate
developed in China – using the same technology as the Pfizer
and Moderna jabs – will begin in Mexico later this month.
"The primary study is expected to be completed by the end of October.
"Unlike inactivated vaccines such as those made by Chinese companies Sinopharm and Sinovac, mRNA shots do not need to be made in high-level biosafety labs and in theory require less time to adjust for viral variants.
"Time News that most of the raw materials needed to make the vaccine could be sourced from within China and some would need to be imported, though not to the extent of the Pfizer-BioNTech shot. That required 280 different materials to be sourced from 19 countries, Pfizer-BioNTech said earlier.

One of the objections to the TRIPS waiver is that other countries would get the mRNA technology. Seems they already have it, which makes the TRIPS objection more about keeping market share for as long as possible. If true that is pretty sick.
