Greetings from Canada. I hope your plans for Christmas and the holiday season are proceeding well. In Canada and Alberta in particular we are “locked down” because of the explosion of Covid-19 cases in our community. I note that Mexico is also not recommending any travel. Both Alberta and Mexico are suffering from this global health emergency. But we will celebrate as best we can and make the most of the season.
As you know, we had booked your home in La Manzanillo for the month of March 2021 and paid a deposit. We were very much looking forward to the winter break. Unfortunately the pandemic has forced us to change our travel plans. We don’t feel it is safe to leave home until we have received a vaccination. We are regretfully cancelling our travel plans for the early part of 2021 both to protect our health and to reduce the potential spread of the disease.
I regret that this leaves you in a difficult spot with an unrented suite for March. The question is what do we do now? Here are two options:
1. Can you simply apply the deposit to a future rental booking in winter 2022?
Or
2. After deducting your expenses for the cancelled booking, can you make a partial or full refund?
We love La Manzanillo and definitely plan to return. We think your property is the most desirable for our lifestyle and budget and would love to rent it in the future. Therefore I hope you can accept the first option. It is certainly the easiest from a money transfer point of view.
We can consider dates and other travel related details as next year progresses.
With thanks.
