Re: And on another note…..
Since we all seem to need to get our two-cents worth in--I don't think learning about someone who died in our community--like Martha--is unimportant. I am part of the La Manzanilla Life page and the Costalegra/COVID group on FB, but they didn't tell me about Martha. I would have felt terrible if I hadn't had a chance to offer condolences to the family. Also, if I had been at the restaurant recently, I'd surely want to know about it. Are there others in the restaurant who have come down with the disease? That's not morbid or dirty laundry. It would give those exposed people a chance to be informed. And to imply that COVID is with us into the future seems both morbid and cynical. If we could continue to convince people to get vaccinated, we have a chance to kill this thing. So far, Cihuatlan has been the main source for vaccinations. Wouldn't it be good to know if there is going to be another clinic there, and to see if anyone is organizing a car pool over there that the people without transportation could use? I know the message board isn't widely used by the Mexican community, but people like Valerie, like Stephanie, like Cruz can use that info to share with people and to organize. Sticking your head in the sand isn't going to help anybody. IMHO
