I can confirm that there is a testing station with personnel there but I can't tell you turn around times and costs. I was there on Saturday dropping off a friend. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Thank you, that helps. We’re Americans, leaving LaManz on March 3, and would rather not have to go to Malaque first, if we can avoid it. Waiting to hear if any traveler actually had the test at the airport. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

I also have the same question for ZLO, anyone who has returned to the US and tested at the airport. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at ZLO airport

Does anyone have any updates on possible testing availability at Manzanillo Airport? Wait time? Cost? Is it likely one would still have to line up very early at the lab in Melaque for an antigen test? | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at ZLO airport

As you know Colin I’ve been trying to get same info. If anyone is flying to US out of ZLO before February 27, would you contact me ranestaas@gmail.com or reply on the message board. I have an email from someone who recently flew out of PV and described the process as quick and easy. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at ZLO airport

So... does “quick and easy” mean that the tests and results are available at the airport the same day one flies??? | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

I’m leaving out of PV where there are many hospitals and labs offering Covid testing. The PCR antigen test or nasal swab around the rim of your nose is accepted by the US. It’s a 24 hour turn around and they email you your results. The nasalpharangeal PCR test is 24-48 hour return if your country requires that. Make sure you check which test is accepted. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Does anyone know if you need to be at the lab in Melaque between 7am and 8am for the antigen test to return to the US? Or is it available all day? | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

I think the antigen test is available anytime, but to confirm, call the Lab in Melaque: 315-355-6479. I believe they speak English. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Is the antigen test what you need or the more expensive pcr test for entry to USA? | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

The antigen test is enough for the USA. I read once that it was available at the ZLO airport but I have not been able to confirm this with Alaska Airlines or the airport website.

I emailed the airport and they assured me it’s available. Takes about 45 min. I’ll know for sure Saturday when I fly home. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Friends are leaving for the states today. We went to the Melaque lab at about 11 a.m. on Monday for the antigen test. No line at all. The test costs $1000p and they got results that afternoon via e-mail. They were told that if they wanted an actual printed certificate that they needed to return the next day to pick it up. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Let us know if that is acceptable to enter the US, or do you need the pcr test. Tks | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Greetings from the Great White North! Re tests for Canada: we had ours in Melaque a week ago (Thursday morning), it cost $3500 each and they took 2 swabs: one from deep in the nose and one from way back in the throat. It was unpleasant but it did not hurt. Not nearly as bad as I had been dreading! The results came back by email the next day (6:30 pm Friday) and we did not bother with paper copies. I took screen shots of our results and showed this at the airport in ZLO and again when we entered Canada. When we arrived (Feb 20), they were not doing additional testing upon arrival and we passed through security and out onto the street, free to take a taxi home. Since then we have been under strict orders of quarantine and once a day we confirm that we have no symptoms on the ArriveCan app on my phone. Easy Peesy. Managed to order groceries online and it worked like a charm. Even free delivery! AND THEN: this morning the door bell rang and an official from the Biosecurity Police was standing there! After first confirming our identities (asked to see ID), he then asked whether we had left the property, how we were getting groceries, if anyone who had not travelled was living with us, and if we had had any visitors onto the property. I should have asked him if we were allowed to shovel our front sidewalk since it snowed last night! Clearly the sidewalk is NOT our property, but we are responsible for clearing it. well, the snow will melt by noon so not to worry. I hope. He said he (or another official) could come back at anytime between 8 am and 7 pm during our Q period. He seemed like a nice young man just doing his job, as they say. | -----------------------Re: Covid Tests at the airport

Hi, Roberta, Could you please email me after your flight to confirm your test at the airport? We leave for the States on Monday, and it would be great to avoid going to Melaque. Sarahwillia@gmail.com Or Geronimotagatac@hotmail.com Good luck and many thanks! Sarah | -----------------------
