'O' Positive blood -- might you be a willing donor?
Posted by Jo Anna H on February 25, 2021, 5:51 pm
My landlady, Oralia Valdez, is hoping a few people will volunteer to be blood donors ... in the case that her very ill (not Covid) father needs it. At this point, it is not necessary, but she would like to be prepared should it become necessary. If you'd be willing, please call her 315-112-6313 or contact me: johope66@gmail.com 315-152-1606 Thanks for considering. | -----------------------Re: 'O' Positive blood -- might you be a willing donor?

Just so you know, if you are over 60 they will not accept you for donation. | -----------------------Re: 'O' Positive blood -- might you be a willing donor?

Thanks, Sherri, this is useful information. Does this apply a) definitely in Mexico b) if the donation is collected for a specific receiver? | -----------------------Oralia's post tonight

My experience is recent that over 60 is not acceptable. Blood and platelet transfusions are very expensive. I saw that there is a great need for people to donate. The blood supply is heavily guarded. The whole thing is not great at all. People are paid decently to donate. | -----------------------Re: 'O' Positive blood -- might you be a willing donor?

Sorry, I did not answer your question.....The people from the blood donor clinic told me that info about over 60's being not acceptable. That was in Colima. | -----------------------Sherri ...
