Don't run into Toronto Sun much but from this one report I am guessing its the Fox News of Canada? Also noting the difference between watching something and reading it, how information can be slanted just by how the person speaks (and this was a tame example) which is one big reason why I don't watch news, I read it. This has been discussed on this message board before and is an emotionally charged topic. Rather than get into that quagmire of opinion vs opinion, a point I think most would agree on is that consistency and clarity of policy is very important. Policy shouldn't be dependent n what mood someone is in or how much deference you show to them. 14 year old Autistic Abby said it well.

Absolutely right, Daniel! As a Canadian who has lived and loved 20 winters in La Manzanilla, I knew it would be difficult returning to Canada with 3 dogs if the pandemic worsened. So I didn't come as I don't have a big bank account. With the covid variant, most of us are very thankful our government is making travellers quarantine to protect us. All the folks in the Sun article who went to Israel would have had to do is get the PCR test with results before the flight and do the 2 day quarantine. It is common knowledge that the vaccine wouldn't get you a free pass home to Canada. The vaccines are not 100% effective, so I think the PCR test is still very important. Travel is what has spread this horrible pandemic. Lots of us aren't vaccinated yet, and with the more contagious variant we are following the rules. They are advising us to not go to the bigger city 16km away or use the local ferry unless it is essential travel. In my opinion the virus spread through the US because of the mask deniers and their shameful leader and resulted in hundred of thousands of needless deaths. In 1960, my own dear father died of polio weeks after travelling to Ontario from Manitoba to pick up a car he had won. He was a 33 year old father of 6 children running his own bakery who didn't get the vaccination because he was too busy. He was the only one in town died from polio. If it weren't our family with so many kids needing a station wagon, he would have been alive today. Our home town had herd immunity as everyone had been vaccinated except a few people who slipped through the cracks. | -----------------------Re: A grateful Canadian

At the current rate 70% vaccinated by February 2022 https://covidvax.live/location/can "On Monday, health officials reported 1,785 new cases since Friday, for an average of 595 per day, continuing a slow but steady increase in new and active cases. There are 166 new variant cases for a total of 1,366, including 237 active cases. Fraser Health accounts for 77 per cent of the COVID-19 variant cases, mainly the B117 variant first associated with the United Kingdom that is considered more easily transmitted and more deadly." BC’s COVID Cases ‘Too High,’ but No New Restrictions I don't know, it seems we are still at the blood letting stage of knowing all the ways COVID is being transmitted. | -----------------------Re: Government at its best

irrespective of the current sentiment in Canada, things change quickly, so make sure you get and keep the government certificate of vaccination you should get after the second AstraZenaca shot. As time goes on, it could come in handy when returning to a foreign jurisdiction. I just returned from Nogales in the USA.. as a Canadian passport holder crossing into the USA couldn't have been easier, no questions asked entering the USA by land from the south...coming from the Canadian north, you might as well be trying to drive into North Korea. Returning to Mexico, you join the thousands of day-tripping Arizona folks... you just drive in, no customs, no immigration, no red light-green light, no one was there... the border is wide open. So the 'agreement' to close ALL borders, Canada, USA, Mexico to non essential traffic is false, only the north border is closed. | -----------------------Re: Government at its best
