No appointment needed. Cost is 1450$ pesos cash or credit. Results after 60 hours but I decided to go and get them at the tent in person because 5 hours before my flight they were not in my email. I got them directly at the tent. My understanding was that Canada wants that the test needed to be done 72 hours before you arrive in Canada and I had a 10 hours journey through the US.

Hi MariaJosee, is the tent for the PCR test at the PV airport easy to find? ...Also,I understand that in order to enter Canada from Mexico, you must present a negative PCR test done in the U.S. This means, of course, getting a second test somehow during a stopover before landing in Canada. Sounds absurd, but thats apparently what made alot of trouble for Marcia several weeks ago.If you know something different,I'd like to hear about it, thanks! | -----------------------Re: PCR TEST AT PVR AIRPORT

Hey Maria Josee, sorry about saying that a PCR test needs to be done in the US before flying into Canada. My all-knowing partner corrected me, its only necessary if you are walking across the border into Canada. THAT was what caused the trouble for Marcia. My Apologies! | -----------------------Re: PCR TEST AT PVR AIRPORT

You don't need to go all the way to the airport. You can get the PCR and Antigen tests at Beny's lab in Melaque. She is located on Gordiano Guzman (next to the Centro de Salud clinic/and across the street from Dr. Eduardo Woo's office).2 blocks past Intercam.

BEWARE!! I had 2 friends do their pcr test at the airport and did NOT get their tests back in time for their flights, so they missed their flight and had to take another test direct at san jose hospital and got their test the next day. | -----------------------Re: PCR TEST AT PVR AIRPORT

Google PCR test and every site will tell you it takes 24 hours to get results...with a personal connection to a qualified lab MAYBE 18 hours. | -----------------------Re: PCR TEST AT PVR AIRPORT

LAX Now Offers COVID-19 Testing With Rapid Turnaround Duck Duck search Not much confidence in that search as there are no main stream media links and the news is from January. Perhaps because it was not required in the US and only required in Canada recently? I did a Google search and did find an Nov. 23, 2020 LA times article with a link to Covid Clinic who is offering the test at the Ontario airport. They have a 1 Hour PCR COVID-19 Test (Best for Travel) and 1 Day PCR COVID-19 Test. So what is the difference? Ahh, nice to be confused again, for a moment there I thought something COVID related actually made sense. /s The LAX test are being done by Clarity Lab Solutions their website is worthless to the individual. But according to the personal experience of the person in David's link these quick PCR test are being accepted. Back when David posted that I responded saying "That is the fastest time for a PCR test I have heard of, seems like it would save a lot of people a lot of trouble if that were available in Canada when you landed." Well you can add to that why are these 3 hour PCR test not being offered by someone at the border? At $125 usd each it seems like a good business opportunity and travelers would save that in hotel fees. Something seems amiss.

When in doubt call your doctor. Mine sent this...if you need to verify this I’ll give you her phone number and her resume. PCR test. PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms. The test can be done in a clinic, hospital, or even in your car. Turnaround time is longer, generally in the 2-3 day range but results can be in as little as 24 hours. When demand is high, results can take a week or longer. | -----------------------
