local news on AstraZeneca
Posted by LisaFern on April 13, 2021, 3:08 pm
Some folks got the first vaccine (Astrazeneca) in Cihuatlán in February, and were expecting a second dose for this week. This has now been postponed until further notice. I got this information today from Jackie Colasurdo who helped organize a caravan of people to get the first vaccination. She was told this by the Delegación official in Melaque responsible for the La Huerta vaccines. That's all the info I have. Jackie requested this post on the message board. Thanks! | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Thanks for the update, Lisa! A few of us stragglers got the first dose between Sunday and Wednesday of the second week, so we were planning to go back to Cihuatlan on our scheduled day next week for the second dose. I think that I can now safely plan to hold a memoir writing workshop instead. | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

What a precious photo, D, but you could have found a photo of a kitty! :-) | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

OK, here you go The previous photo is something I call puppy head, it came out of my brain the air. It happens when your curosity is peaked or you are not sure of the intent. There is another idiom I use often "the imagination of a kitten" When you see them playing with their made up world. Dogs don't usually do that shit. You could say they are a step above but I don't see any reason to differentiate when its all good. Eh? Since you responded, do you want to expand on the quote? Puppy head was asking for clarification as to how much humor was intended. I took it my own way and appreciated the "deviancy". Deviancy in quotes as many a truth is said in jest and its all pretty much a mixed bag anyway. | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Although I appreciate the kitty photo, I'm afraid that I don't understand your quote question. So while I'm waiting for clarification, I'll tell a little story to take us even further off the AstraZeneca track. Years ago in San Miguel, when my husband was still living, I insisted on staying home to watch LeBron James play in the NBA finals because, when he was still a high school student in Akron, OH, we became friends after his family hired me to teach his nephew how to play tennis. When the game was over, Bill asked me for a replay, but I couldn't tell him anything because I had spent the entire time watching the members of Gatolandia frolic around the room, fascinated by their endless imaginations. I love dogs, too, but cats are far more entertaining. | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Is there a connection between missing your second shot and writing your memoir? I took it as a pun i.e. now that you have missed your second shot (not fully vacinated) death is closer so best get that memoir finished.

AHA! I thought it was an existential question about pet poses. The connection between no second AZ dose anytime soon and a memoir writing workshop is that I will now have the time to offer one to full-timers and stragglers. If nobody comes, I'll just work on my own, "The Accidental Immigrant." | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

I was wondering if someone could clear up what this means: "I got this information today from Jackie Colasurdo who helped organize a caravan of people to get the first vaccination. She was told this by the Delegación official in Melaque responsible for the La Huerta vaccines." I ask because I am following all info for news for my mum's second shot. Yet this doesn't make sense to me. The Delegación I assume spoken to is La Huerta? This has nothing to do with Cihuatlán, a completely different municipality surely? The program was a Federal one and the IMSS clinic was just the host, they just provided the facility and some people to help. Or was the Delegación person somehow actually one of the Federally sent health people who ran the vaccine clinic? Just trying to make sense of the info is all. Thanks in advance. | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Yes, it's that meandering time of year! To get back on track, my landlord called the IMSS clinic in Cihuatlan yesterday and was told that the vaccination team is now in Guadalajara. So ignore the scheduled appointment day that you were given for the second dose because it now has no meaning. SO Mexico! ;-) | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Was told this by a friend who connected me in the first place! She spoke with a woman at the Delegacion in Melaque who informed her of the first vaccinations in Chihuatlan! No link, just talk, but am hopeful she knew what she was talking about...maybe! | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

But then the question becomes: do we have to get our second dose in the same order as we got the first? For example, I think you went to Cihuatlan in the Don Raul group on 2/14, whereas I went on 2/19. Will I have to go five days later than you again? Please keep asking questions, Stefania, since you have such a talent for finding answers! | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca

Hahaha..laughed out loud at that! Ask a whole lot of questions and what do you get...lots of answers..many of which do not hold much water....however... when I know something concrete will share, promise! | -----------------------Re: local news on AstraZeneca
