There is no PCR test (for Canada) at Manzanillo, only antigen (the quick test to get into the US). PCR has to be done at the Lab in Melaque. Use the search feature of the message board to search the word Lab. | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Thanks Elena. I have since learned that the PCR test at ZLO is less than the one from the lab in Melaque. I should have stayed out of the conversation since I don't travel. But nobody was answering correctly so.....I thought I would join in and also answer incorrectly | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Thank you all but I found the Mexican government site of all ten airports that do both tests at way fairer price than Melaque!! And on one post there is a 500 p pcr in a hospital in PV . So pays to search around! | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Ummmm.... how often does this happen Daniel? | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Still too often but its getting better. More people are learning how to link and evaluate sources. We all suffer from fake news but too few of us are willing to take the very easy first steps toward limiting it. The saying below used to be on the top of the message board. It got replaced by what is there now because few took the time to read the guidelines (which admittedly were poorly written). Collecting data is the first step toward wisdom Sharing data is the first step toward community Onward | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

IF GOING TO CANADA, remember that your PCR test must have been done within 72 hours AND administered in country you are entering from. So, if your flights include a stop in the USA, your PCR test must be done the USA, not México. Unless things have changed again...

In my world it’s called google! Also if your flight is continual with a change of planes your pcr is good from Mexico to Canada within the 72 hrs. Read the past board from travellers who went from here to Canada through the USA | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

The question is, when does the clock start running for the 72 hours? I assume it s when you had the swab shoved up your nose? | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

I DuckDuckGo'd my own answer: Pre-entry test requirements All travellers 5 years of age or older, regardless of citizenship, must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. You don't require a test to fly within Canada. There are no exceptions for vaccinated travellers, at this time. You must: take the test within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your flight to Canada if you have a connecting flight: the test must be conducted within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time of your last direct flight to Canada you may need to schedule the test in your transit city provide one of the accepted types of tests, not an antigen test keep proof of your test results for the 14-day period that begins on the day you enter Canada Airlines will refuse boarding to travellers who are unable to provide a valid molecular test result. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/flying-canada-checklist/covid-19-testing-travellers-coming-into-canada#getting-tested

Where would we go to schedule a test, 72 hours before returning to Canada or the US? | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

So what are you saying is #### community and #### you, I got mine. The idea is to make it so each of us doesn't have to Google it. You Google it then give us a link to your results. Links are literally the backbone of the Internet. Its what Google did for you when you used it. It gave you a link to the information you were looking for. Without Googles link you would have had to search the entire Internet looking for the information. God damned geezers are probably too old to use the Internet. The kids wouldn't put up with this no link shit for even one second and would have banned us all. For them watching us use the Internet is like watching a monkey with a smart phone. I am going to start posting these directions every day until the ####ing cows come home. At the top of every web page, Facebook page etc. is the address bar. The address (URL) starts with https:// or https://, if you click on it it will burn blue, you right click and select copy. Next you go to the white space on the message board where you post a message, put the mouse arrow in that white space and left click, then right click and select paste. Your have just linked. (close rant)

Word of warning that a few weeks back people lost their flights. I can't work out how to link to the actual post here in my laptop, but here is the text and a link to the group on Facebook (the group is private so you need to join to see it): Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1075492276142311 Post: Florence Caracol Melaque Something serious happened today at the lab Polanco, at the airport of Manzanillo. My parents were supposed to travel to Belgium today Tuesday and needed a PCR test. Last week we went to the airport to check the timing and make sure they were open on Sunday which was the best day to do the test considering it takes between 24 and 48 hours to get the results. (information that we red on line and they confirmed when we were there). Yesterday Monday, my parents didn't get any email from the lab but we still had time before the 48 hours. The lab made sure the results would be at the airport Tuesday morning before the 11:02am flight of aeromexico. So we got to the airport at 7:45am and nothing was there. After making us wait and wait they finally accepted they lost the samples of their test. So my parents lost their flights (Mexico - Amsterdam - Brussels). The personal was completely incapable to deal with problems, they ignore that you can't get on the plane for a national flight connected to an international flight with all the paper work about covid. They just gave me the number of a call center to claim... They are taking 0 responsibility. Now they tell people asking for information that the time for results of a PCR is 48-72 hours. As of this date nobody has had delay issues paying Beny in Melaque to do the PCR tests. Just and FYI. | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Someone who recently travelled responded to my query on FB We paid about $100 Cdn. each, it took 32 hours to get the results, so we booked a hotel near the airport for 2 nights, which was quite nice, and yes, we had it via email and a piece of official paper for Canadian /American and Mexican immigration. | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

When you get the results are they date stamped the time you took the test or the date you receive the result of the test | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Trish, I don’t know the answer to your question for the PCR test at ZLO, but I asked Beny’s lab in Melaque this week how it is done there. At Beny’s lab they stamp the date you receive the result. Anneli | -----------------------Re: Cost of pcr at ZLO

Hi: We did this much earlier this winter but we travelled through the US, and our test was accepted and expected from the country of origin, which was Mexico. You cannot fly to the US, get tested and get the results in enough time to have them on entry to Canada anyway. Get the test in Melaque, the day before your flight. Then you'll have the results when you get on the plane if you have a smartphone. Even when we were late getting back to Canada because of cancelled flights due to a snow storm, our PCR test from Melaque was accepted. They understood cancelled flights! Vicki PS Unless things have changed. Yep, google. Or whatever search engine is your choice. | -----------------------
