returning to Quebec by land

hello to you all my friends! Has promise, here's some news from my trip going back home. I arrived the USA, through Phoenix, Arizona. You do need to pick your suitcase after passing the immigration. They were all nice to me. I could see the smile through their mask. Once arrived at destination (Burlington), I went to my hotel and than went to pass a free Covid-19 test. The PCR one that takes up to 48 hours for results. the free test is at 405, Pine St, Burlington. Did my test at 15:00 and had the result 24 hours later. I chose to stay an extra day to enjoy the beautiful town and the walk by lake Champlain (my last one for the next 2 weeks). Everyone was wearing a mask even outside (especially me). I reserved a Uber for the next day going to Lacolle/Champlain border. Cost between 100-130 US. That was so funny when 4 immigrant agents from the USA escorted me to go to Canada, they even carried my suitcase They were also very nice. So I walked with my 2 suitcases on the car line waiting my turn (10 minutes). The Canadian immigration agent was as nice. He provided me with two Covid quits and I walked straight to the tent and had a test on the spot. My friend picked me up at the parking lot by the restrooms. I even ask the agent if it was ok. The total cost of it including air flight, suitcase, taxis, hotels, meals was 907.64$ Canadian I had a great time and enjoyed every free breath. Be well, be safe, be good ))) see you next saison Salut!

Thanks for the personal experience Lulu, glad you are home safe. "That was so funny when 4 immigrant agents from the USA escorted me to go to Canada, they even carried my suitcase They were also very nice." Sure doesn't hurt to be pretty, nice and cheerful when traveling (you have all three). That may be a good business for someone good looking to help people across the border. Reminds me a bit of this 30 rock video called the bubble. (joking with you) https://youtu.be/UAQoXOLlvT0 Be well, see you next season. Actually if you are not pretty but nice and cheerful you will do ok, if you arent any of the three you could have a rough time. Even if you are all three there is a thing called deference If you don't blow the right color of smoke up the ass of the authority you are working with then things will not go well no matter how pretty, nice and cheerful you are, they will show you reality in their terms. Ask Autistic Abby about that she knows.

My husband said the same thing | -----------------------Re: returning to Quebec by land

I will take that as an affirmative in general. But its true, pretty, kind and cheerful (or whatever combination one is capable of) goes a long way in this world, it opens doors and makes life easier. Crossing International borders or working with the TSA (or equivalent) can be tricky though. Its not the most sought after job and is sometimes filled by someone who is of questionable self esteem. They may be a bit bored and will be snippy for no particular reason to test how deep your being nice and cheerful goes. Its why I don't travel, they can feel my authority issues no matter how hard I try to hide it, a little probe on their part and the #### you's come spilling out and next thing I know I am in jail wishing I had never left the safe zone | -----------------------Re: returning to Quebec by land

24+ hours later Daniel realizes its just beautiful soul Lulu crossing the border and inciting a moment of brevity and playfulness with the border guards (I'm sure they needed it) and sharing that. You go Lulu, I will try to keep up. But if I ever do cross the border you have to meet me and help. | -----------------------
