It is a good idea to disconnect/turn off appliances and other electrical devices as low power fluctuations can damage them. | -----------------------Power ok, no internet

.... disconnect your frig and water pump if you can hear them cycling till the lights get bright again. The 'brown out' means the electricity is below 90 volts and that voltage is probably insufficient for the capacitor start motors and frig compressors to engage. They may keep cycling, trying to start, but fail and that can eventually that constant cycling can cause permanent damage/failure. You will notice that electricity is fed by 3 wires known as 3 phase, until you get to a transformer which distributes the juice as single phase. One side of the '3 phase/wires' is down, maybe a fallen tree, but the transformer picks up some energy from the 'other side' that is still live so you get this low voltage brown out effect for some subscribers. Generally electronics and lights won't be damaged by this problem although the lights may not come on, some modems and electronics may still work, maybe not. | -----------------------
