Recommendations for a shade tree

I’m looking for recommendations re a good type pf tree to plant in a pot, something that will create good shade, grow quickly, but not too big, does not drop flowers, sap or leaves, etc. I would also put casters under the pot, so I could move it as the sun changes direction, etc. | -----------------------Re: Recommendations for a shade tree

Bamboo is your answer Carol… You might check the vivero on the road to Barra - on your left … | -----------------------Re: Recommendations for a shade tree

We have a limon persia in a pot, and it’s doing well. Lots of leaves to provide shade, and you get fragrant flowers and juicy limes too. | -----------------------Re: Recommendations for a shade tree

I like bamboo, too, David, but I think it grows so fast it might outgrow the pot too soon. Thanks for the Persian lime idea, David. That sounds exotic. I’ll come by and see it. I remember seeing some trees in the water slide park on the right going into Barra. They looked like almendras, but were evergreen. I’ll try to stop there again sometime, and get a source for them. | -----------------------Re: Recommendations for a shade tree

I would recommend avoiding almendras. I have one that provides shade and is really a beautiful tree, but it's maybe the messiest tree I've even had! | -----------------------
