Sad news

My wonderful husband of 50 years passed away yesterday afternoon. He had been dealing with advanced dementia for many years and finally, two hip operations which his body just could not handle.. I will miss his kindness, quirky sense of humor, and wonderful outlook on life. Our years in La Manzanilla were some of the very best in what was a long (he was 89) and really wonderful life. We were both grateful for the many friends we made while living in La Manzanilla and I wanted to let everyone know about his passing. This seemed like the best way. | -----------------------Re: Sad news

Deanna, You and Darwin have been friends like family to me from the start. He was so kind, smart, and real. And just thinking about his sense of humor gives me a chuckle. I never saw him behave like a jerk or be mean to anyone; never heard a bad thing said about him. He truly was one of the good ones. And you’ve been wonderful, taking such loving care of him through the tough years. You’re in my heart and prayers, amiga mia. | -----------------------Re: Sad news

Oh Deanna, so very sorry to hear the news of Darwin’s passing. I was just thinking of you two recently, how you were so helpful for me when I was building my casa and staying with you. You made me feel so at home, and taught me so many things about owning a home and living in it down south. I will never forget your kindness, and Darwin was one in a million. I too loved his wry sense of humour and his unflappableness, if that is even a word. To this day I’m so gratefull that you told me to put windows in the back of my casa to catch the night breezes, just one of many wonderful tips. I remember thinking that if I was to ever marry it would be to someone like Darwin, jaja. You must feel such a loss, my heartfelt condolences. I would love to hear from you. You can reach me at evy1949@icloud.com. Are you still living in Merida? | -----------------------Re: Sad news

Sad news indeed, I miss you both and will never forget Darwin as we waited for tacos at Chap Chap and many other fond memories. Life is not the same since you left LM. I hope our paths will cross one day so I can tell you in person how much our friendship means to me. | -----------------------Re: Sad news
