Swimming Without Fear

Good Morning. I stumbled upon a beautiful beach yesterday near the Careyes development. It's on a small, secluded bay that one can walk to from Hwy. 200 and at first glance, it seems like the perfect place for a swim. Is it?! It seems to have a drop-off relatively close to shore that leads to DEEP waters and I noticed that no one there was going out that far. What can anyone tell us about this particular spot? I'm hesitant to plunge right in after all the comments about rip tides! | -----------------------Re: Swimming Without Fear

Go into small Careyes village right after bridge and ask arouNd as there are names to all those beaches and their reputation . When in doubt always ask locals. | -----------------------Re: Swimming Without Fear

It’s Playa Careyitos. It looks harder than it is to get in and out of the water. Some snorkeling, can jump off the rocks. Nice place. | -----------------------Re: Swimming Without Fear

Thanks, ladies. It makes perfect sense that getting in and out of the water might present challenges; the drop-off is pretty extreme. AND I'll follow your advice and go to the village.
