ATM in Melaque

I just read on Facebook that they have closed Banamex in Melaque, and that you can’t even get cash from the ATM there. True or no? Does anyone have more info? | -----------------------Re: ATM in Melaque

And the Delegado ATM is still out of order I heard. Anyone know what's going on? | -----------------------Re: ATM in Melaque

Re the one at the Delegación: I've seen some people get cash out of it, but it won't allow me to enter an amount that it can give me. Esmeralda, the receptionist at the Delegación, said she had reported it, last week. That's all I know. | -----------------------Re: ATM in Melaque

Good news! Alex at the Hawaii store in Melaque will give cash back when you use your credit card to buy groceries there. | -----------------------Re: ATM in Melaque

...if you spend any serious time down in Mexico, there is a thing to be said for opening an account at Intercam .....or perhaps Banamex. The one advantage with Banamex is they issue credit cards otherwise I'd stick with Intercam. 1. Inexpensive and very convenient to move money down to Mexico using 'Wise' or 'XE'. With 'Wise' your money is transferred at the interbank rate... not sure about XE, don't use em. Once setup it's just a few mouse clicks and you transfer your money from NOB to down here. Very easy. 2. No bank fees (Intercam) and free to get $ from the ATM... including ScotiaBank... there may be others. No more exorbitant ATM fees when using NOB bank cards. 3. 'National' bank cards work in most if not all ATM's, also work at places like Pemex, Hawaii and the Bodega/Walmart/Soriana. The Bodega gives 'cash back' on your card if you ask. No more rejected cards. National cards work at the Banjercito ATM (they may charge a small fee) 4. GIC's get way better interest in Mexico. NOB sometimes seems you get almost 0%..while the banksters often get over 20% (credit cards) with your invested money.
| -----------------------Ditto on Intercam..
