Great! Thanks, Rebecca. Now we just need a volunteer to update the Emergency Services document, so that all the contacts are in one place. Anyone? Steve Nisbet, I think your offer is just for this critical time - however, shall we add your phone number there temporarily? | -----------------------Re: Other ambulance #

Hey Carol. Yes, I am willing to be back-up/back-up, in case both ambulances are busy. Some rumours are reporting that things are bad enough that that is a possibility. I would need a mattress to toss in the back, and someone to ride with the patient. They would be completely isolated from the cab, so minimal risk to myself. My number 24/7 is 3151521745. I am off Facebook. Tired of being bombarded with the BS, which is also taking over our local page. If someone wants to post my offer and # there that is fine. | -----------------------Re: Other ambulance #

I am also off of Facebook now, so I hope you saw my offer there to translate if necessary: 314 132 4396. (I'm not volunteering to update the list, just to help in an emergency.) | -----------------------Re: Other ambulance #

Tho not 100% perfect, my Spanish is good. Mexico has been my second home for 30 years. Now it is mi hogar completa. Gracias a Dios. | -----------------------Re: Other ambulance #

Steve, although I have no doubt that your offer of transferring individuals to the hospital is made with the best of intentions, I feel a need to remind you that: - should the individual you are transporting actually have co-vid you will then need to burn the mattress and have your vehicle cleaned at a horrendous price by authorized people in Cihuatlan; - should you have an accident while proceeding at above the posted speed limit your insurance will not respond; - should you have an accident and the individual you are carrying should pass away as a result of that accident you are opening yourself up to litigation by the family; - should the individual you are transporting actually have co-vid you are exposing yourself and you are NOT immune. These are the biggies that come to mind, but I'm sure more will swim to the surface in due time. Please stay safe, Steve - your heart may lead you astray.

https://www.lamanzanilla.info/emergency_services-20-05-12.pdf This is the document I am referring to...it’s right here on this message board. It’s a PDF. Whoever does update this...another volunteer service needed is to go through all the contacts, and make sure they are still current. And please, does anyone know how the Centro de Salud is operating these days? They had announced shortened hours - like M-F, 9-5, only, but maybe with this more critical situation, they might have expanded the hours some. A great opportunity to do this community service from home now, especially if you are bilingual.
