Was waiting for someone else to ask, but Crickets. Spraying of Melaque on the ground and from the air the last day or so. Apparently us tomorrow. Killing covid they say. Anyone know what the magic elixir is?

Looks like no harm, no foul. Just a bit of money thrown at something useless. Thanks for all your help. | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

They were spraying earlier tonight in my neighborhood. I have no idea what concoction they are using. Worthless waste of time and money and not a very safe feeling to me. | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

Thx Carol. Unfortunately, can't see that without fb. In your opinion, should I get my family out of town? | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

It appears the main ingredient is Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach). Let's hope this is a one time thing. So useless.

Thx everyone. Seems to attack the respiratory system. Also becomes flammable when reacting with aluminum. Yummy. Thought these days in Mexico were behind us. Time for a road trip for a few days perhaps. | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

Thanks, Ilene, I read the “conversation” article, and it was interesting. One thing that comes up for me often, is that when I read an article like that, I can’t find a date of publication. Is this one dated? More general question: is there a way to track down dates of this kind of article? Maybe my iPad is the problem. Sometimes it hides things. | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

In all the years I have been in La Manz., I see a truck spraying in the evening during rainy season, just after the mosquito (standing water) patrol have been going door to door. They are spraying to kill mosquito larvae, to prevent dengue. If there are numerous reports of dengue in a particular area in town, they may come twice. Just close your windows for 10 minutes. | -----------------------Re: Crop (us) dusting Wednesday night in LM

It’s not for dengue, it’s for covid, as I have been informed by my doc. I got sprayed the other day, I’m still breathing… | -----------------------It's for covid not mosquitos.

Sherri, either you are not here or you haven't been paying attention (or both). This is an attempt to sanitize for covid. It's tractors pulling big spraying turbines not the dengue truck. | -----------------------Re: It's for covid not mosquitos.

I would say that your comment was the rude one. Sort of a "you are all so dumb. it's only a mosquito truck." 'nuff said. | -----------------------Close but no cigar

Almost made it with no drama 9n this post. Hence my reluctance to ever post or comment. Thanks again for all the info. | -----------------------Re: Close but no cigar

I'm not aware of any magical spray that is available for Covid-19? If so, I want to invest. . . let me know? | -----------------------Re: Close but no cigar

Unfortunately there is no evidence that “fogging” is effective against COVID. I saw the picture of the volunteers in charge of fogging, none of them were wearing a face mask. The EPA says that this method of prevention is useless. We need to reinforced the proven methods: face masks, hand sanitizers, vaccines, preventing large number of people from gathering and surface cleaning(maybe sodium hypochlorite?) and please don’t drink bleach!! Lately there have been reports of gargling as an effective method, either with salt water or a diluted solution of iodine-povidone with water 1/10. Cheers | -----------------------Re: Close but no cigar
