If you have a seaquake close to where you live you may not be able to escape the ensuing tsunami. It also depends on the depth and a few other basic things if you will get a tsunami at all. So if the seaquake happens 10 miles offshore remember the tsunami will travel to you at just over 8 miles in a minute, so you will have no time at all to evacuate. If you up the hill you can watch it happening. Also being in a bay may help because it also depends in your case the direction the tsunami is coming from to how it will react in the bay.
