Also when they say 69% chance of rain, they mean that there is a 69% chance it will rain somewhere in the forecast area. You have to know the boundaries of the forecast area to put that into perspective.
If the report is not signed by a meteorologist its probable it is only the results of a computer program, something to keep in mind. Although predictions of current day events are probably quite good and you could use the prediction features of Windy or any animated weather site and get some good results. For current day, anything outside of that get that salt shaker out and take a hit.
Meteorologist used to use the accuracy of their predictions as a badge of honor. I wonder what the accuracy is of the current computer programs? Better, worse? Certainly cheaper.
