We used to live on the beach just one block from the casino. We would close every thing up when the fiesta dances were happening. Still had restless sleep. Ear plugs helped. There were times when tourists(mostly Mexicans) would bring some sort of boom box thing that has really high volume and they would blast that thing all day and night just a few feet from our door. We would politely ask them to "bajar el volumen, por favor". They might turn it down or not but right after turn up again. They were having fun and dancing. Who can blame them, it's their holiday. Onetime, there was was an x-cop staying upstairs, where they had no protection from the music. He said he'd like to "shoot that damn box". We got more tolerant and realized that this too will pass, sometime....but there will be another and another.
Mexico is loud! There is always something, roosters, dogs, traffic, gas truck, parties......
If you want to visit or live in Mexico, you have to accept all of it and adjust. This is Mexico and it is rich with life... and noises.
