Close to the hurricane

Here is a quick video where I tried to get the gust of wind that were happening but never did. The gust would happen and I would start to take a video then they would stop. I was low on battery and didn't want to not have a phone so I only tried a couple times to catch it. I can assure you it was intense!
As mentioned in this post I was at Gaviotas, which is on the beach next to the office. Here is what that tree looked like the next day.

Thank you for this great little video Daniel. We are so relieved knowing you and your office fared well. Happy to see the extra protection you put up this time. Hurricane force winds up on our hill in La Tigra …very similar to Patricia for us. We lost 6 of our biggest trees. Members of the family for the last 6 years. Thank God not one hit a car, our home, studio or our windows. Felipe’s gotten a good workout with the chainsaw the last couple of days. The dream has always been to live on a hill with lots of light and a view of the ocean. Well, we have even more light and more views now. We remain grateful it wasn’t any worse, for any of us here. | -------------------Re: Close to the hurricane

I talked with Richard last evening and it seems your canyon was one of the locations with hurricane force winds, glad your safe. Seeing that video of that tree reminds me of what happened to that tree during Hurricane Patricia. TLDR - I witnessed hurricane Patricia take almost all of the branches off that Almond tree in two seconds. I don't believe I ever told my experience of hurricane Patricia, since I am taking the day off from work (recuperating) I will attempt to do an abbreviated version here. Hurricane Patricia was all over the news as the strongest hurricane in the western hemisphere, big time new coverage. I had never been in a hurricane before so I didn't really know what to expect. I lost my hurricane virginity to a CAT 5 hurricane and gained a whole lot of respect for the power of mother nature. I had moved almost everything off the beach to a safe house (including the cat) and was hanging out in the office waiting for the first signs that the hurricane was here (winds coming in from the ocean) at which time I would vacate the office, that was the plan. They cut the power off about an hour before the hurricane hit so I had hooked up the web cam to the battery of my car so I could keep streaming as long as possible. Well, all plans went to shit when the winds did not come from the ocean side but began and escalated very quickly from the front of the office. Within minutes the wind was so strong that I could not open the office door to get out, nor would I want to go out in that wind as shit was flying all around out there. So I kind of resolved that I was trapped and would be riding out the hurricane from the office. At one point the wind knocked the cam crooked, I went out to straighten it (I almost got hurt when a gust slammed the door closed on my foot going back in). That was when my phone and my email lit up like a Christmas tree. People (mostly from the gulf side of Mexico who know hurricanes) we asking me what the #### was I still doing there and advising me to get out NOW! TV stations were calling asking for permission to use the footage on their programs, I was in no mood to dicker with them and just said ok. A radio announcer called me to get the story. I told him to look at the live feed on the Internet, he said "this is radio we can't see the video, describe it to us" I told him he had the wrong guy for that, and just as I said that a big gust of wind came and stripped the Almond tree clean in two seconds at which time I unconsciously let out a loud ####KKKKK!!!!! which ended the conversation. A bit later, quite suddenly everything stopped, the wind, the rain, all of it. I took that as my cue, put the web cam away, unhooked the car battery, took my computer and started walking toward the safe house which was located next to the art gallery. The town was already a big mess and there was not a soul in sight. It was totally calm, no wind, no rain, no people, it was like I was in the twilight zone. I got to the safe house and by the time I got up stairs it had all started again but this time in an onshore direction. The wind was making this weird high pitched whistling noise as it hit the Palapa I was sitting under, that weirded me out enough so that I went down one level to the bedrooms and fell asleep. I awoke in the morning to the sound of a river, I looked out off the bedroom patio to Perula Sur (the street below) and sure enough there was a river going down the street! I waded my way through that river (barefoot, I am truly an idiot) and got to the office to see the doors torn off, roof gone, widows blown out, very close to total destruction. There ended up being over 700,000 views to the webcam (not including how many views the cam got from all the TV news stations that played parts of it) and pretty near a hundred emails from people all over the world sending us their prayers and wishes. End of story.

Daniel, you've brought Patricia back, full force. I was in Guad and was one of those people watching your footage on telly and scared s***less on behalf of you all. I recall the almendria tree on my return to LM. She was totally naked, not a leave was spared. I marvelled at her recovery over the winter, and here she is, being assaulted again ... as are you all. My heart is with you. | -------------------Re: Close to the hurricane

Software development is a time-consuming process. At least I've noticed that. You know, I work for one big company, and recently my team decided to create something similar. As a result, we started looking for resources that would suit us and found this offshore web development where there is opportunity to use service of developing that helps to get new ideas. And I think every programmer should know that you're a person who wants to create a good business and manage it without problems. | -------------------
