Muddy waters

I am new to town and have a few questions…. The shortest route from el campo to the jardín is on Playa Blanca. There is a large body of water that doesn’t seem to be draining anywhere, which is a hazard to those of us who walk, corner of Playa Blanca and Boca Del Río. Why hasn’t the Camino to the arroyo been cleared of the sand buildup? There is also a large hole that would swallowed a car at the end of Playa Blanca, in front of the large blue house. Also a health hazard.. Is there a delegado in town that takes care of these hazards? And, if so, why does he do nothing? Seems like clean up is very slow.. Our freedom of movement has been compromised. Who do we sue when someone breaks a leg?? Come on let’s get with it!!! | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

I don't know you Kathryn S but your email is so.....crazy that I think you are not real and someone is trolling us. "Who do we sue when someone breaks a leg?? " Hilarious!

No..am thinking this is a Kathy that has only been here for a few months! But does not know Mexico, hurricanes and that the main thing people fix right off the bat is their homes, electricity and communication..and that there is no one to sue! | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

Hi there. Just so you know, I'm just Kathy and my last name begins with a G. I don't have internet service at my house so I have not been online much since Nora came knocking. Saludos. | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

Kathryn, I am writing on behalf of my husband who is Mexican, although not local to La Manzanilla. Your posting was tone-deaf and other respondents to it have been gentle and kind. It also displayed a sad lack of understanding of the culture in which you are a visitor. Please look around you and see that there are many other priorities. I understand your concern for safety but whatever needs to be addressed will be, perhaps just not on your timetable. If you don't know the meaning of "manos a la obra" then look it up. This community pulls together and gets things done! And if the timetable is not to your liking, then get your hands dirty and help out! | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

Stephanie....are you talking about the woman who lives on our hill? Because she goes by Kathy G, not as Katherine S, and I don't think she would say anything like this as she has lived in Mexico for 9 years. Please be careful when publicly attacking people you are not familiar with. Hugs...Mike & Tracy | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

I am, every time a disaster hits, amazed at the way the Mexican people respond with humility, concern, humanity, and respect. Learn... | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

That was not an attack…only clarifying it was a real person that did not understand what goes on here! Hugs back! | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

You are right Stephanie…I apologize. Attacking wasn’t the appropriate word…more like accusing. Either way, names should not be used unless you are positive it was who you “think” it is. Just saying M&T😘 | -------------------Re: Muddy waters

When I sublet my San Miguel penthouse apartment to come to La Manz every January (before I actually moved here), potential subletters invariably asked if I had insurance in case they fell down the spiral stairs. "Of course not!" I would reply. "You couldn't sue me if you did, so my advice is to watch your step." | -------------------Re: Muddy waters
