Seeds are planted in the Middle School Garden

Peter is back and working hard in the Middle School Garden. After being neglected last year, things are quite overgrown and there is damage to the irrigation system and other structures. Nevertheless, he is committed to bringing the garden back. It will be a major project. He already sowed some lettuce seeds. Even if you do not like to garden, your help in small ways will make the task easier. Peter is looking for cardboard - without any plastic packing tape - so it can be used as mulch and weed barrier. You can find Peter in the garden most mornings between 9 and noon. How about giving directions in layman's terms so that newcomers, who are not sailors, can find the garden? Thanks for helping Peter! | ------------------- Map for the Middle School Garden

darn, my previous attempt to link to a map failed. One can arrive at the school garden by turning north off of the main road (Av. Lazaro Cardenas) between the highway and the beach. This side road is not marked but labeled on some maps as Calle Mariposa. Coming from the beach you will see a small sign on a power pole for FRESCO el restaurante. Calle Mariposa also connects with Plaza de Toros or the rodeo grounds. Entrance to the school garden is at north end of Calle Mariposa. If your sextant and time piece are not working, you can copy and paste the latitude and longitude numbers into Google Maps to pin a destination. (19.2893333, -104.7851667) Or copy & paste this link: https://goo.gl/maps/RVP6W2zDCoTi4KUB9 Hope this map helps.

A special thank you to the anonymous person who dropped off cardboard at the garden. It all has been used. Much more is welcome. Anyone willing to separate and pile up wet or dirty cardboard at the recycling lot across from the Elementary School? If it is separated (from other garbage like plastic bags) La Huerta workers are willing to haul it to the garden in their truck. Saves them a trip to the dump. | -------------------Re: Seeds are planted in the Middle School Garden

Does anyone have another way of contacting those working at the community garden. I've tried the ways provided and came up empty. | -------------------Re: Seeds are planted in the Middle School Garden

Guys, may I join? Actually, having such a product is necessary for everybody who wants to have better mood and relaxation. Anyway, believe it or not, but I have almost the same problem and in the past I could not even imagine that a product could help me forget about health problems. So, just try to consume mushrooms from this source https://www.shrooms-online.net which will help you improve the state of health. I know what it's like and you should try to use it either. | -------------------Re: Seeds are planted in the Middle School Garden

A few years back there was a general call for visitors to bring seeds from wherever to the garden. A few days prior to the posting I had been to the by then pretty much dead garden and harvested, lettuce varieties, tomato, basil, arugala and other seeds, which hopefully would be better acclimated to the local soil, water and climate than the imported seeds. When is the seed=saving workshop for this growing season? I and I believe others would attend such a workshop gleaning knowledge and putting a few pesos in the garden fund. If you generate too many seeds, making lemonade from too many seeds could be the "seed money" for the newly "sprouted" garden' seed sales enterprise. Is the garden selling bedding plants this year? There is usually a request for vegetable starts that NONE of the local viveros offer. A huge niche to be filled. | -------------------
