water filter recommendations

Looking for a way to get cleaner water, less nano-plastics, heavy metals, chemicals, etc without using the plastic garafons. Perhaps an RO system that will cleanup my cistern & tinaco water and I can use the water wasted for my garden. Any ideas? Experience? What system do you use? Thanks much! | -------------------Re: water filter recommendations

I simply put about 1/4 cup of bleach in my tenaco when here each winter and use killerbac drops in the water from my garafon which I drink. You can buy killerbac at La Semila. | -------------------Re: water filter recommendations

The person you want to talk to is Siegfried. I know he would not be upset with me sharing his number so it is 315-351-7295 | -------------------Re: water filter recommendations

A few friends here have brought down Berkey systems. I have some questions about it, as I am thinking of getting one. How often do you change the filter? How do you know when it needs changing? Does it remove the nano-particles of plastic that Jill mentioned? Does it leave in any good beneficial minerals? | -------------------Re: water filter recommendations

Thanks everyone! My lucky day! Siegfried is a fountain of knowledge. As for Berkey, I have the equivalent Aquacera. The filters are interchangable with Berkey. It does ilter nano plastic. When to do a filter change --unscientific but..when the flow slows down and the water smells funky?..meaning I don't know. You can make your own Berkey if you can get the filters. | -------------------
