We have seen this supersized bee/wasp in and around our bush this part week. I have never seen anything this size before. Would appreciate information on it. como subir fotos en google imagenes | -------------------Re: Bee? Wasp?

Given the wing shape and the length of its single proboscis I would say it is probably a Dark Edged Bee Fly or something similar. Great pictures! -AR | -------------------Re: Bee? Wasp?

I've heard it called a carpenter bee -- huge! | -------------------Re: Bee? Wasp?

Hi Joanne. What a pretty little bee! And I'm quite certain it IS a bee, not a fly. I don't think it's a carpenter bee Jo Anna - I'm leaning towards calling it an orchid bee, possibly Eulaema sp.

Thanks so much for identifying it, Pablo…and for your thoughts about it, Jo Anna and Kim | -------------------
