GMO

Good Morning Campers .... todays discussion is on how Monsanto and Major Drug Companies collude with Governments to bump off senior citizens . That's obvious you say and yes it is, but do you know the reasons behind this diabolical scheme ?!! It goes like this .... Monsanto and their ilk with GMO seed patents that can produce many times the volume of agricultural produce but with a fraction of the nutrients . This leads to malnutrition and digestive problems for the mammals that ingest these altered life forms. This in turn leads to new diseases and manifestations of existing ones. The epidemic of Diabetes is a great example . Now enter the drug companies with their evil manipulations of new and existing patents to cure these created epidemic diseases at exorbitant prices. If you have some money you can have access to these miracle drugs if you don`t well ... have a seat in the waiting room . Hepatitis C is a great example . Now enter government who for 50 years have promised social services that can never be delivered on . The more seniors that can pass on from so called natural causes the less there are to demand those health care services. In the next 20 years there will be no more baby boomers .... end of problem ! Did you know that drug overdose or bad inter drug actions are the 4th leading cause of death in the US. I guess I should be scared but, me who smoked and drank and ate a Mexican sea food diet for 23 years should probably worry about greater things like whether there is life after death ! | ------------------------MEXICO GMO BAN is a FARCE

LEASE READ THIS and SHARE/POST IT: Mexico is NOT as in N-O-T banning GMO Corn. PLEASE STOP POSTING and sharing posts that this is the case. I understand why you want to celebrate any resistance against the biotech companies but NOTE THIS AND PLEASE REMEMBER ALWAYS (so you do not have to keep wondering whether to celebrate those facebook posts or not..)…Until ALL importations of corn from the US stop as in S-T-O-P, GMO corn continues to infiltrate Mexico (and any other country we export to that does not regulate seed) http://vivalamilpa.com/mexico-gmo-ban-is-a-farce/ | ------------------------Re: MEXICO GMO BAN is a FARCE

You are smoking dope....... yes obesity, diabetes and all sorts of other bad health things are on the rise, but they have very little or nothing to do with GMOs. They have to do with eating too much, consuming too much sugar (which is not a GMO) and not exercising enough. | ------------------------Re: GMO

Doesn't the corn sweetener in so many food come from GMO corn? | ------------------------Re: GMO

Yes, some of the corn used is GMO. The long term effects of GMO, BT toxin etc. will one day be known. Personally I would feel much better if the producers had a history of being honest and community minded, unfortunately that is not the case. Inherent with money and power is the need for more, it is a sickness and those who are sick need to be helped by those who are not sick. There are other ways of doing things, they just don't make as much money.

Thank You Danial for one of the better observations on this discussion. One of my family members is a food scientist, who does not work for any of the GMO producing corporations, and he told me he is not aware of any studies that show any negative health issues with regard to the ingestion of GMO foods. Note he did not say there are no issues only that there is no evidence yet. One poster noted that corporate produced food today is less nutritious. This is true. However this is not because of GMO's. Since the 1930's agronomists have been developing plant strains that have a high yield, travel well, last longer, grow better and are easier to farm. This has been done using good old selective breeding. The one thing they seem to have forgotten is nutritional value. A friend of mine who has a Phd in food science/plant breeding decided to start his own company and develop a better peanut. Using conventional breeding techniques he came up with a peanut in which the oil is more like olive oil in chemical structure and according to nutritionists olive oil is better for you than peanut oil. What my friend found is nobody cared. It was only when he demonstrated to the big food companies that peanuts with this new oil gave products better shelf life that he started selling seeds. Which brings us back to Danial's point that it is not so much the technology used but how and why the technology is used that matter. On this point I have little hope as the big corporations have government on their side and out side of avoiding their products there is little we as individuals can actually do. And a happy merry day to you all

Most likely but that is not the reason it causes obesity and the related problems. It is sugar..... which when added to things is bad. Non GMO sugar is no better than GMO.... just like a more natural sugar consumed in too large a quantity is bad. | ------------------------Re: GMO

Look at the history of wonderful products Monsanto has brought us: slavery, PCBs, sacharin, Roundup, GMOs... Truly an endearing family legacy. | ------------------------Re: GMO

@ Tim Yes , all the causes you have mentioned are absolutely correct . However for many years fructose corn syrup has been in literally all processed foods. Fructose is extracted from GMO corn , and this corn is not edible for human consumption as it stands alone . It must be processed into syrup which is then added to everything as a sweetener. We all know that eventually you are what you eat . Don`t forget the huge epidemic in children's food allergies. This SEEMS to coincide with when we went from real sugars to fructose sugars in soft drinks and processed foods . An aside , Cattle are fed left over hulls and leaves of GMO corn . It is ground up and Antibiotics are added in , because this type of feed weakens the immune systems of the "feed lot" animals. Straight feeding of corn can only be used to fatten cattle only JUST before they are harvested because a diet of this corn for any length of time is deadly . I think people have heard of antibiotics in our food chain and how humans are building immunity . There will be trouble in paradise when antibiotics are no longer the magic bullet they once were . As Daniel alludes to >>>> Follow the money ! | ------------------------Re: GMO
