Re: Dogs for Adoption
Unfortunately Westjet has raised their fees for dogs to $200 from $75, so I won't be taking any extras back this year. Last year I took 2 junkyard dogs back and found wonderful homes for them. I am glad that Valentin was able to spay and neuter those pups. That is a big part of the solution. If homes aren't found for them, they become part of a sanctuary at Valentin's. My opinion is that it is a longshot that they will be adopted. I hope I am proven wrong. It is cheaper on Alaska Air for the Americans wanting wonderful dogs. Please think of doing it and even if you don't want a dog, these Mexican dogs are very special and you will have no problem finding homes for them. Ask your friends and they can pay the fare. In my experience Big Crates are hard to find here and expensive. Next year I will bring lots down as Westjet considers them humanitarian aid and they go for free. So all you Canadians, bring big crates down, please!
