Pranayama - The Yogic Art of Breathing
Posted by Jo Anna on January 12, 2020, 10:06 pm
"Prananayama, the yogic art of breathing, leads to a control of the emotions which in turn brings stability, concentration, and mental poise....Pranayama is a bridge which helps the student of yoga cross from the realm of purely physical development to that of the spirit and forms a crucial stage in her/his journey towards self-realization." Prana - our vital energy. Pranayama is the fourth of the 8 limbs of yoga. It is my hope that students will be able to commit to the full six weeks. Week 3 will be the last opportunity for a student to join this class unless he or she has had considerable experience with pranayama. THURSDAYS 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Ideally, pranayama is practiced on a 3-hours empty stomach. This becomes more important as one becomes more advanced in one's practice. Questions? Further information?
