I left La Manzanilla with Aaron(sp) our lovely taxi driver to Puerto Vallarta. I sat in back seat. In P.V.airport everyone wore masks but I did not find any hand sanitizer. At no time was any information asked of me as to my health or contacts.
I did renew my expired visa at the immigration office which opened at 10 a.m. in the airport. Cost was approximately 550 pesos. I was told there is a place to renew expired visas in Melaque.
On my flight to Dallas we were given a bag with a small bottle of water, cookies and one hand sanitizer. No forms filled out and no temperature check.
In Dallas the airport was like Calcutta. Everyone wearing masks but it was impossible to social distance, no hand sanitizer and no health check.
I was offered one hand sanitizer when I boarded my flight to Calgary. As in the previous flight we were jammed in like sardines. An additional good thing about masks is you can sleep with your mouth open and nobody can tell!
Calgary was a totally different situation. Masks, hand gel stations. I had to go through a check point where my temperature was taken, then I was wheeled to an area where I used a tablet to enter all my information I.e. address, who I live with, do I live in city, town. Will someone provide me with necessities as in food and meds while under quarantine. Did I understand that I had to quarantine for 14 days and that i could not leave my property line..or have anybody on my land.
Since arriving home I have received a call from the federal government and the provincial government and several Robo calls making sure I am in self quarantine. My son has been abiding this also.
I hope this answers your question Daniel.
On a side note. I have been avidly following U.S.
politics and found it interesting to talk to so many Trump supporters.
I know that our village needs tourists and the tourists need our village. For the love of our people please self isolate and wear your masks once you arrive in our piece of paradise. It is called respect, tip well, get house keepers whether you need them or not, buy locally.
Have someone get you your necessities, food, booze, gas before you arrive then hunker down.
Stay safe and see you when I see you.
Heidi
