"Firstly, how to define the "residents or people of La Manzanilla".
These might include: Mexican citizens who live in LM, full-time
property owners, seasonal property owners,
All included.
"seasonal renters, vacationers (up to a month stay).
Then there are those who visit/stay in LM once in a while".
Also included but they should go easy on the number of post and on
the opinions ....i.e. balance.
"A hard one would be those who have to visit LM but are looking for
information in order to decide whether or not to come".
As in the past there is no problem with those post.
"Other issues are hard to resolve - number of times one can post over
a specified period of time",
There is no set number, if you get into a discussion with someone it
may involve lots of post in a row. If one were to voice their opinion
on every topic they might get a frownie from the Mod and would probebly
not get invited to very many parties. It doesn't seem to be a problem unless
it is being done by someone we don't know.
"using abusive language, attacking other people",
As in the past it is frowned upon, having to take responsibility for
the post takes care of most of that. If its too much it will be deleted
and the poster notified so a dialog / cooling down can take place, and
the post hopefully modified or ? I get emails from people when someone
is really out of line so I don't have to read every post.
"being off topic",
Off topic happens. hopefully not more than a post or two, main red flag is
political stuff. I don't have to moderate that much.
"making unsubstantiated claims, etc. "
We went through quite a bit of that as the COVID drama started. Its
something we work on together as a community, as are all the guidelines.
I can't do it alone, I need the cooperation and help of everyone.
Thanks for the post Larry, I may include the top part in the guidelines
to help out those who are hesitant to post.
