I remember (back when mask were first being recommended) seeing a video about how to use a mask. (sorry no link) The instructions went something like this.
"to remove the mask grasp it by the part that goes around your head, DO NOT TOUCH THE SURFACES OF THE MASK, throw it away and wash your hands.
I don't believe I have heard that since. Lots of info about wearing a mask, none about correct mask protocol.
Now the norm is wear the mask where you are required to then take it off, put it in your purse or pocket. When you get home throw it on the table or counter or let the kids play with it, until the next time it is needed. Same mask, day in and day out for weeks and longer! We go out and collect some virus and bring it on home, and then blame the ones not wearing a mask for the spread of COVID.
That mask is doing its job collecting the virus before it enters your nose, it should be treated as if it has the virus. Either put your mask into a bowl and disinfect it or even better throw it in the trash and use a new mask every day.
IMO
Just some thoughts from someone who only wears a mask when required to and has shitty mask protocol.
