B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/paueho/bc_brings_back_mandatory_masks_in_public_indoor/ I remember (back when mask were first being recommended) seeing a video about how to use a mask. (sorry no link) The instructions went something like this. "to remove the mask grasp it by the part that goes around your head, DO NOT TOUCH THE SURFACES OF THE MASK, throw it away and wash your hands. I don't believe I have heard that since. Lots of info about wearing a mask, none about correct mask protocol. Now the norm is wear the mask where you are required to then take it off, put it in your purse or pocket. When you get home throw it on the table or counter or let the kids play with it, until the next time it is needed. Same mask, day in and day out for weeks and longer! We go out and collect some virus and bring it on home, and then blame the ones not wearing a mask for the spread of COVID. That mask is doing its job collecting the virus before it enters your nose, it should be treated as if it has the virus. Either put your mask into a bowl and disinfect it or even better throw it in the trash and use a new mask every day. IMO Just some thoughts from someone who only wears a mask when required to and has shitty mask protocol. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Yes, that is pretty much the heart of the information I remember, including this "When emptying garbage bins, don’t touch used masks or tissues with your hands". Its pretty obvious by those instructions that if not followed mask can be a net negative. But literally no one is talking about those instructions, its just wear a mask. IMO the fit and type of material are important but not as crucial as treating the mask as if it has COVID. Mask should be sold in boxes of 100 which dispenses them like Kleenex, and given away free at places like stores. Especially when in tight quarters like an airplane. All the people bringing their collectors (mask) onto the plane, really not a good idea. They should be given a new mask and hand sanitize as they board and told not to take out or touch their "regular" mask at all. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Yes, while BC doubles down with the same old stupidity, Denmark gets real. https://freedomfirstnetwork.com/2021/08/denmark-abolishes-all-corona-measures I prefer to take care of my natural immunity system with vitamins C, D, selenium and zinc for starters. Masks only when indicated. Making children wear them in school as here in BC is insanity in my view, as it does more harm than good. Vaccination of children with these rushed so-called vaccines is worse - the many long term studies necessary will take years to complete, if ever. If I were to begin to experience flu like symptoms I would seek early out patient treatment per FLCCC protocols. These involve ivermectin folks. https://covid19criticalcare.com/ Check out some articles on that site. Eg. Ïsraeli scientist says Covid 19 could be treated for under $1 per day. Looks like I will be illegally coerced into getting a leaky and dangerous experimental gene therapy, a so-called vaccine, so I can fly back south to La Manzanilla in a couple of months, since I am presently in BC not Denmark. Thanks, Daniel, for mentioning this. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Your welcome but just to be clear only one short sentence in your response was about the topic being discussed. The topics you talked about are not related to masks and should not be mixed up like that. And to make sure there is clarity I am not anti mask at all, quite the opposite, I am advocating the correct use of them. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Here in the hinterlands of BC I’d just like to say I wash my masks—yes, plural—frequently. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Roberto, in evaluating research outcomes, the type or research that is being conducted and the size of that study is extremely important. The FLCCC has received strong criticism for not following research protocols and in the cases you’ve highlighted they are really small sample sizes <100 in all the studies. More research is needed to determine if ivermectin is a viable treatment which larger studies are under way. In addition, sticking with facts is critical and as a health care provider, I try my best to help educate the public. Here’s an article on how mRNA vaccines work. “Gene therapy” is incorrect. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/different-types-of-covid-19-vaccines/art-20506465 | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

In the US, Washington State it is also mandatory - right now there are over 200 more patients in critical care in the hospital than there was at the peak of Covid. Schools also as well as everywhere else | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

"Making children wear them in school as here in BC is insanity in my view, as it does more harm than good." Roberto, "it does more harm than good" -- I don't know what the harm is. ?Might you explain, please | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

Some pediatricians question the wisdom of masking young children in care settings. Do the benefits of pandemic control today outweigh the developmental risks to young children, which may well affect them for a lifetime? I think that is a fair question. https://osf.io/65tdh | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

A question, yes, and also an information link to knowledgeable sources. Many abound. I think my reply to Jo Anna is still on topic. A topic, BTW, that our moderator introduced. Much respect to Daniel H. for his selfless work providing this forum. Let us use it for reasoned discussion & pertinent news. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

I am still using the same mask Delta airlines have me on a flight from Mexico City to Atlanta in June 2020. Looking at my air rewards - the mask now has 28,350 air miles. | -------------------Re: B.C. brings back mandatory masks in public indoor spaces for entire province

FYI & somewhat related. Here in Cali, I just found out yesterday that friends & relatives of friends of mine here, who are all vaccinated, have got covid, though either not badly or asymptomatic: certainly not as bad as unvaccinated people. Just sayin. Steve | ------------------- |
