Re: What parking?
Really some parallels to what we deal with living in Tofino which over the years has developed into an international tourist destination. Big strain on our water and sewer system ( we now are having to build a new secondary treatment plant ) ,many huge semi trucks and trailers arrive daily into the village core to service the needs of our restaurants, parking is a disaster and many wonder about what benefits are realized from the many motor homes that arrive every holiday break.---- Seems to me to be really about developing respectful relationships and honouring each other needs in some way. --could we have smaller vehicles or shuttles service the areas where everyone wants to be and establish parking areas a bit further out? -- could businesses and local governments ensure that extra garbage and recycling cans are out and about and that water stations and temporary washroom facilities are established for the special times when we all know there will be many guests and visitors ? Always interesting, and fodder for lively discussion, to figure out who is "local" , who is a visitor or tourist, who benefits from the tourism industry and who sees it as a pain.
